Point-to-point Ethernet services are finding popularity among European businesses, new research from Forrester suggests.
According to the organisation, 42 per cent of enterprise users across the continent are now conducting their IP transit over such a network.
This compares with a figure of 25 per cent of such clients who were using site-to-site Ethernet a year ago.
"Ethernet services delivered over carrier core Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks using the virtual private local area network service standard are mainstream in Europe," the analyst comments.
However, point-to-point carrier Ethernet has been identified as being adopted by some firms which do not use MPLS.
