BGP Looking Glass

A full BGP dump is available on the looking glass server for the more experienced user or the customer that requires a true view of our Internet tables.

A BGP looking glass can be used for troubleshooting. Using this tool allows you to look into the BGP tables and routing tables of ISPs. These can facilitate your understanding of how their routes are being handled.

This system is built on the Open source software Zebra (zebra.org) and provides a read only view of our BGP tables; it has one peering session with cc-uk-sov-01-r-01 and cc-uk-thn-01-r-01. To access this use the following URL:

telnet://looking-glass.controlcircle.com:2605/

This may not work from IE7, so please just launch the telnet application direct from windows with the port number set to 2605.

The MOTD (Message of the Day) banner shows details on how to login and what community are available to search on, e.g. to view all routes that the FCP has modified, then execute the command:

looking-glass> sh ip bgp community 31672:4000
