Head of Marketing

The Head of Marketing is ControlCircle’s ‘brand ambassador’ owning our company image, brand and its standing within the market place ensuring that our key messages and value proposition are hitting key audiences and resonating with them. Getting into the mind set of our customers, thinking about their needs and translating these needs into messages, campaigns and new opportunities are also key accountabilities. The Head of Marketing brings imagination and enthusiasm, an eye for trends, competitive threats and a credible communication style to the business along with a strong commercial grounding to ensure we are data driven in our decision making and optimising our marketing investment.

 

Main Duties

Marketing & Communications

  1. Setting appropriate marketing strategies and execute annual marketing plans
  2. Being  the brand champion across the business, championing innovation and cutting edge brand communications
  3. Leading the on-going development and implementation of a compelling ControlCircle brand
  4. Developing and implementing the annual PR and SM strategy
  5. Developing and implementing strategic online activities and digital communications plans
  6. Leading the development of internal communications initiatives
  7. Monitoring and analysing market trends

Lead Generation and Bid Support

  1. Working closely with the business development team to develop compelling propositions/collateral for potential clients
  2. Being a central part of the business development team in supporting the presentation stage in bids with a clear marketing focus
  3. Defining and driving lead generation campaigns to deliver MQL and BANT leads

 

People and Leadership

  1. Managing the in-house marketing team to ensure the best levels of marketing support across all areas of the business, providing leadership, inspiration and development opportunities for all direct reports and broader teams
  2. Directing and managing activities by chosen agency partners and suppliers

 

Finance

  1. Being responsible for annual marketing planning and budgeting
  2. Managing and controlling all marketing expenditure
  3. Presenting  results and suggestions to company directors or other senior managers

 

Success  in this role will be measured through meeting agreed targets across areas such as incremental sales revenue, cost per lead, lead to customer conversion ratio, funnel visualisation, social media reach/engagements, tier 1 and 2 press and analyst coverage, SEO ranking, marketing ROI.

 

Qualification

The ideal candidate will come from previous B2B SaaS, Managed Services or IT focused marketing roles. This role is most suited to candidates with a strong drive for ROI and the ability to lead both the marketing communications and lead generation aspects of marketing.

Quality Assurance and Test Engineer

The Quality Assurance and Test Engineer will be responsible for all quality assurance and test activities within the CTO development team, as well as providing guidance and good practice across the broader business.  This will include the development and implementation of an effective automation framework for solution testing.

  1. Develop a team wide Quality Assurance and Testing strategy for all development activities of the team
  2. Assist in identification of tools and products that could be used to improve the quality of the developed solutions and the automation of solution testing
  3. Work with the development teams to design test plans for software, infrastructure and product development activities
  4. Oversee all testing activities within the team to ensure they are correctly executed
  5. Work with the broader business to devise testing strategies for infrastructure solutions deployed for our customers
  6. Ensure that all product blue prints include standard testing
  7. Support the compliance officer by providing relevant material for internal/external/customer audits
  8. Own the company test lab

 

 Main Duties

  1. Develop a team wide Quality Assurance and Testing strategy for all development activities of the team
  2. Assist in identification of tools and products that could be used to improve the quality of the developed solutions and the automation of solution testing
  3. Work with the development teams to design test plans for software, infrastructure and product development activities
  4. Oversee all testing activities within the team to ensure they are correctly executed
  5. Work with the broader business to devise testing strategies for infrastructure solutions deployed for our customers
  6. In conjunction with the product manager and the development teams, develop standard test plans for developed products that can executed by the implementation team at the point of delivery
  7. Own the company test lab, develop and maintain appropriate procedures and booking systems, identify and recommend upgrades to the test labs capability
  8. Keeping abreast of industry best practices and innovations and maintaining a broad level knowledge of technologies in use by ControlCircle and their Customers
  9. Train out the use of the testing systems and procedures to the company
  10. Support the compliance officer by providing relevant material for internal/external/customer audits
  11. Drive implementation excellence ensuring accurate and predictable delivery of services providing measurable business value to ControlCircle’s customers and the associated revenue to Control Circle
  12. Support the requirement for compliance to partner and external accreditations, e.g. ISO27001 and 20000
  13. Provide input and direction to the business on best practice, processes and  procedures
  14. Work with the broader company technical teams in developing best practices

Knowledge/Skills

This role is for an experienced self-starting Test Engineer who wants to make a big impact on driving quality and enhancing a business’s testing methodologies.

The ideal candidate will have experience of testing end to end solutions, covering applications, IT infrastructure (servers, storage and networks), processes and data centre services.

  1. Computing/Science/Engineering degree
  2. Extensive experience of developing test plans, quality assurance best practices and driving an automation agenda
  3. Experience of operating a test lab for infrastructure and application testing
  4. Proven experience in working with applications developed on a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP/Python) stack.
  5. Experience of working with various operating systems, including Linux and windows operating systems.
  6. Experience of Database systems including SQL and MySQL.
  7. A basic understanding of IT infrastructure (servers, storage and networking)
  8. Proven experience of working within an enterprise grade structured delivery process
  9. Ability to communicate with all areas of the business
  10. Good standard of literacy
  11. Experience of working within product development would be ideal but not necessary

 

User Interface Application Developer

The purpose of the role is to develop applications necessary to deliver the team’s responsibilities around customer infrastructure and service monitoring and management.

This covers enhancing the applications and capability in the monitoring platform, the customer portal and peripheral applications that are exposed through the portal.

This will include development of order management systems and technical monitoring tooling such as network utilisation and billing solutions and their integration into the customer portal.

  1. Design and implement application solutions within the service and monitoring and management domain, with particular focus around the user interfaces
  2. Following and enhance best practices used within the business, and transition the relevant elements to the technical operations team.
  3. Work with the broader company technical teams in developing best practices
  4. Assist in identification of tools and products that could be used in creating new or augmenting existing products and services
  5. Ensure the availability and security of deployed solutions in line with business KPI through best practice, correct design and implementation.
  6. To support the sales lifecycle, ensuring that ControlCircle presents a joined-up customer engagement, provide product SMEs to support the sales teams in developing customer responses and in face to face customer engagements.
  7. Liaise with internal and external (customer) stakeholders to ensure that designs are correct and the milestones are achievable and understood
  8. Collaborate closely with Technical Operations and the PMO to ensure that solution handover best practices are adhered to

 

Main Duties

  1. In conjunction with the broader team design and develop application solutions within the customer service monitoring and management domain, with particular focus on the user interfaces, as necessary to meet the business need and continuously improve the company applications in accordance with the software development life cycle.
  2. Engage with internal/External stakeholders to develop delivery plans and capture solution requirements

Knowledge/Skills

This role is for an experienced self-starting developer who wants to make a big impact on driving quality and enhancing a business’s IT systems quality and capability and is ready to make the step into product development.

The ideal candidate will have experience of designing and developing user interfaces, and exposure to managing IT infrastructure (servers, storage and networks).  Experience of monitoring applications would be advantageous.

  2. A proven ability to develop applications in PHP and/or Python with specific skills in User Interface definition and creation
  3. Understanding  and/or experience of how to write applications against an API (SOAP/Rest)

New Business Sales Executive

The key objectives for the role are:

  1. Developing new sales opportunities on behalf of the Company and as a result hitting individual business objectives and targets
  2. These targets will be mainly focused around Managed Hosting, Hybrix, Max3000 & Connectivity solutions
  3. Developing a large pipeline of business from ‘New logo’ prospects is the key aspect of the role
  4. Progressing deals along the sales cycle and closing business
  5. Accurate & Timely forecasting

 

Main Duties

Identifying and developing long-term strategic customer relationships through targeting new Corporate and high value clients for Managed Hosting, Hybrix, Max3000 & Connectivity

  1. Accurate forecasting via SFDC
  2. Use of Sales methodology tool on a consistent basis to aid deal qualification
  3. Consultative sales approach with senior executives
  4. Constantly increase pipeline
  5. Build excellent rapport with potential customers
  6. Working with the Sales Director to ensure individual sales activities are aligned with the objectives set for the overall team
  7. Work with Sales Director to ensure input into future strategy and propositions
  8. Work with internal Marcoms Team and external Demand Generation agency to build, execute and refine Value Propositions to Mid-tier corporate, based around certain known strength sectors (e.g. Finance, M-commerce, Media, Consultancy, etc)

 

Knowledge/Skills

Work Experience:

  1. Extensive sales experience working in an IT services company required, with a strong track record in one or more of the following areas: connectivity, hosting and applications management
  2. Demonstrable track record of winning & securing high value ‘Managed Services’ contracts from Corporate Mid-market customers
  3. Experience in managing corporate relationships over long periods of time within the UK market
  4. Commercial knowledge of business & Value Proposition building
  5. Strong Hosting & Networks industry knowledge desirable

 

Education / Qualifications:

  1. Degree educated preferred
  2. Trained and used sales methodologies such as Holden Powers Base, TAS, Miller Heiman Blue Sheet, etc.
  3. As appropriate and approved can participate in relevant industry development forums

 

Senior Windows Server Engineer

As a Senior Windows Server Engineer working within the Customer Delivery Team you will be expected to engage in all aspects of the delivery life-cycle, under the guidance of the Client Delivery Manager. 

Initially you will be required to work with Solution and Technical Architects, evaluating or fledging out designs for complex or custom solutions to ensure they meet the required best practices and standards.  Once these solutions have been transitioned to the PMO you will be responsible for their technical implementation, as well as the creation of any required documentation, topology diagrams and testing cycles.  You may also be required to oversee and guide junior engineers working on the same project.  During implementation you may be required to assist the project manager; identifying project requirements, pre-requisites & advising on the implementation order.  You will be required to quickly and accurately troubleshoot and resolve any issues that occur during implementation process and to regularly feed back updates on progress to the PM and client. Following implementation you will be required to QA your solution, to configure monitoring and to provide a technical handover to the Operations Department who support the live client systems on a 24x7 basis.

There may be a requirement for engineers to work outside of business hours to accommodate customer requests or project deliverables, therefore we require engineers who are willing to be flexible in this respect.  All third line operations and delivery engineers are also required to take part in an out of hours ‘On Call’ rota for issues that cannot be fixed by the 24x7 operations engineers.  Remuneration is given on top of base salary for all out of hours work, and also for taking part in on the On Call rota, even if you are not called out.

  7. Support the PMO, Technical & Solutions Architecture departments
  8. Provide handover to the operations department
  9. Troubleshoot any issues in the implementation process or in solutions prior to handover to the Operations department
  10. Escalate any issues to the Project Manager and the Client Engineering Manager
  11. Oversee, guide and mentor Junior Engineers
  12. Create standards for use across multiple projects
  13. Assist with out of hours work requirements and the On Call escalation rota
  14. Provide feedback and suggestions on improvements to the client engineering manager, PMO and sales departments
  15. Keep abreast of current server & application technologies and communicate advances and possible vulnerabilities to the relevant departments

 

Knowledge/Skills

Qualifications

The successful candidate will ideally hold a bachelor’s degree in a Science/Engineering discipline as well some of the following technical qualifications;

  1. Microsoft MCP, MCSE, MCSM, MCITP
  2. VMWare VCP, VCAP-DCA, VCAP-DCD
  3. Citrix CCA, CCAA

 

Technical Experience

Minimum 5 years advanced experience in a deployment role working with the following technologies in a similar organisation;   

  1. VMWare ESXi / vCenter (v5.x), deployed in a SAN-attached, clustered environment
  2. Microsoft Windows Server (2008 R2) and Active Directory.  Knowledge of Server 2012 is also an advantage.
  3. Microsoft SQL Server (2008/2012) deployed as stand-alone and physical/virtual clustered deployments.
  4. Citrix XenApp (v5.0-v6.x)

 

Experience with the following  would be an advantage

  1. VMware SRM (Site Recovery Manager), ideally utilising SAN SRA for replication
  2. Citrix NetScaler/Access Gateway
  3. Powershell/VBS scripting
  4. A good familiarity with hardware components (Dell & HP).
  5. Puppet or alternative automation technologies
  6. SAN and/or Network technologies
  7. Experience working in a managed service provider environment

 

 

Senior Network & Security Engineer

Technical Experience 

A thorough understanding of the following technologies and a minimum of 5 years’ experience carrying out advanced deployment tasks in an enterprise environment is expected;

  1. Checkpoint firewall 1/provider 1
  2. Juniper FW - Junos & Netscreen
  3. Cisco ASA
  4. Switching, routing  and Load Balancing

 

Experience with the following technologies would be an advantage

  1. Thales HSM
  2. Juniper SSL VPN

  1. Expert Knowledge and verifiable extensive experience within a customer facing environment of designing, implementing, troubleshooting, performance tuning & capacity planning experience in a major discipline as defined above.
  2. In addition it is expected that there should be working knowledge of one other major discipline e.g. Windows, Unix or storage.
  3. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience working with various troubleshooting and performance tools and a proven methodology to identify root causes.
  4. Candidate should have a detailed understanding of IPSec VPN technologies, site-to-site, remote client and SSL technologies, with implementation and troubleshooting skills of multivendor interoperability IPSec tunnels.
  5. A good familiarity with network hardware components and a deep knowledge of administering and deploying over Juniper, Cisco and Checkpoint switches and routers is required.
