Acceptable Use Policy


ControlCircle has in place an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) to improve the use of all ControlCircle managed services by proactively preventing unacceptable and excessive use.  

All customers are required to comply to the AUP including contract and third party staff associated with a customer.

Violations of AUP

Support & Changes:

Changes or updates carried out on a managed server, device or application that ControlCircle identify as ‘development work’ and is not considered as normal behaviour for a production system.

Examples of excessive requests for change unless related to a production system issue or problem would be more than five change requests a month for rule or configuration changes (move, add or change) for a managed load balancer, switch or firewall device, storage lun sizes, or configuration changes to database software parameter settings.

For enterprise customers who wish to make more frequent changes to their managed devices and servers due to high profile activity or development cycle of their business, premium support options are available, allowing for increased frequency of managed support and changes.

Changes to a manage server, device or application that causes excessive monitoring alerts tickets and subsequent support requests to the NOC and engineering teams may be considered as misuse of the systems.

Alerting may be switched off until such time as these alerts return to acceptable normal amounts and customer requests for further changes may be refused until further clarification has been obtained via the NOC, account manager or a member of the TSM team. Continued misuse may involve additional management and support charges being applied to the customer.

Illegal Use:

ControlCircle customers agree not to use the ControlCircle hosted platform and systems in a manner that violates local laws, or to participate in fraudulent activities. ControlCircle may be forced to power off and disconnect offending devices and services.

Network Dissemination:

ControlCircle customers agree not use their hosted and managed platform and systems to distribute unsolicited broadcast or commercial email (SPAM) or to carry out any activity that reduces or adversely affects other customers ability use ControlCircle services, including denial of service attacks.
